Course Description
Taxonomies are hierarchical, classification mechanisms that are pervasive, but often confusing and misunderstood, within the data ecosystem of an organization. Effective use of taxonomies helps drive better Data Quality and Data Governance. Taxonomies are also foundational components of machine learning and artificial intelligence systems. This course examines the core concepts of taxonomies, including: definitions, uses and rules, why they are important, getting started, and more.
The “What is…?” series of data fundamentals courses, along with associated packaged Learning Plans, are meant to help data and non-data professionals build a common language and understanding between them on significant data-related topics such as Data Management, Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, and many others.
These courses provide a means to develop a level of cooperative understanding between business users, executives, teams, and technical professionals across your organization, so that everyone can be on the same page as you move forward with your data programs and initiatives.
