T1 EDW Tutorial: How to Construct a Data Analytics Strategy
Time: Monday, March 27th, 8am - 11am Pacific Time (PST)/11am - 2pm Eastern Time (EST)
In an information economy, data is the currency of business. Digital upstarts are disrupting every industry, making it imperative that organizations have a strong data strategy that turns data into insights and profitable activity. Some need data to streamline operations and reduce costs, others to manage risk, and most to grow revenues and profits, even monetize data and analytic assets. The best data strategies are tailored to each organization’s unique circumstances, culture, and data maturity.
A data strategy is an enterprise-wide plan to harness data and analytics to achieve business goals. At a high level, it is a blueprint for creating a data-driven organization; at a low level, it is a set of plans for building a data architecture and supply chain to acquire, transform, and deliver data to business users and applications to facilitate decision-making and action. This session defines what a data strategy is, explains why organizations need them, and outlines its core components.
