OCB2: Navigating Conversations with Effective Questions

Great conversations don’t happen by chance, they’re shaped by the questions we ask. In this course, instructor Wendy Lynch, PhD., builds on the concepts established in the first course, guiding business and data professionals to dig deeper using strategic questioning to uncover insights, align perspectives, and drive progress. Participants explore how timing, language, and framing influence outcomes and gain practical tools for leading dialogue with enhanced precision, assurance, and ease, even in complex or high-stakes settings.

The ability to ask the right questions at the right time is a powerful yet often underused skill in the workplace, one that can shift conversations from surface-level to truly strategic. Instructed by Wendy Lynch, PhD, this course helps business and data professionals become more intentional and impactful in how they guide dialogue, especially in moments that require clarity, alignment, or critical thinking.

Learners explore how different types of questions influence the direction and depth of a conversation, uncover insights, and support better decisions. Through a deeper understanding of how timing, tone, and phrasing can shape responses and outcomes, and with a mix of structured practice, peer interaction, and real-world scenarios, participants develop a repeatable approach to asking questions that fosters collaboration, surfaces key information, and keeps momentum moving forward.
