What is metadata and why is the old definition of “data about data” hiding the full story around effective metadata management? How do you distinguish the different types of metadata such as business, technical, governance, process, and others? How does metadata work with big data and other advanced technologies, and what’s missing? This course covers those questions and so many more – such as the business benefits of metadata management, exploitation of metadata assets, key industry standards around metadata, and discussions about the differences between glossaries, dictionaries, and catalogs.
The DMBOK and CDMP Specialist Deep Dive: Metadata Management two-day live online training covers the considerations, benefits, and approaches for the successful capture, storage, management, and exploitation of metadata assets in an organization. Taught by instructor Christopher Bradley (a CDMP Fellow), this course offers a solid foundation in the topic of Metadata Management, while also doing a deep dive into the different types, sources, and uses of metadata. It also helps prepare attendees to take the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Metadata Management Specialist exam, which is necessary to attain the Practitioner and Master levels.
The training presents practices and processes for addressing key Metadata Management challenges and equipping organizations to better deal with the complexity of managing metadata effectively. It is grounded in the industry standard, the DAMA International Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK).
The training also prepares attendees to take the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Metadata Management Specialist exam that is necessary for the attainment of the Practitioner and Master levels.
This course addresses both the DMBOK Version 2.0 and DMBOK Revised Edition.
The DAMA International-endorsed live online training was developed with DAMA International, DATAVERSITY, and Christopher Bradley, the VP of Professional Development at DAMA.
