MDOS3: GS1 Trade Item Standards and Services

ISO standards publication is another open global master data standard that both complements and differs from Global Standard One (GS1). ISO 8000 and ISO 22745 standards provide effective and efficient methods for master data metadata and content exchange between trading partners that can improve trade item procurement. In this course, instructor Frank Cerwin explores the functions and facets of ISO standards including their key identifiers, and the resources and practices supporting these standards.

Global Standard One (GS1) centers on the trade item representing a product or service. The trade item identification, attribute values, and groupings of items are all governed by the standards applicable within and across industries, and compliance with the governance rules and alternatives is essential for the implementation of GS1 in an organization.
