Anyone who has done systems integration knows that it involves copying (and transforming data). Whether we are doing ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) or ELT (Extract, Load to a Data Lake, and maybe eventually Transform) or just hitting an API endpoint, all systems integration involves copying and transforming data. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Leveraging the power of Knowledge Graphs, and especially their native ability to federate over multiple databases, we can achieve data integration without copying and transforming data. This talk will cover the basics of Knowledge Graphs, Graph Databases, and the Data-Centric principles. We will describe the mechanics that allow Zero Copy Integration.
We will provide two case studies of firms that are successfully applying Zero Copy integration in production systems.
Attendees will:
If you have survived a Sarbanes Oxley audit, you have an appreciation of the number and variety of systems and stores that financial information goes through on its route from hundreds of distributed sources amongst the firm's many source systems through countless data pipelines on its way to the general ledger, the financial data warehouse, and the financial reporting systems.
We will show a live demo of a system that uses the Zero Copy paradigm to deliver financial results direct to the firm’s financial system without unnecessary intermediate steps.
