EDW Fall 23: NEPC's Data Quality Adventure

In 2022, the Data Governance Team at NEPC was tasked by our Management Group to look into 6 specific Data Quality issues. These issues spanned a variety of areas Enterprise-wide, impacting various systems and various teams. I will present how we identified what the Data Quality issue was, the analysis completed in regard to it, and the implementation of a plan to address the issue. I will review all that went into these steps, including the creation and utilization of analytics to help to review and validate our efforts as a team. I will also review where we are today as we continue to monitor and assess these areas to ensure that the issues do not return.

Gregory joined NEPC in 2016 and is now the Manager of the Data Governance and Management Team. Prior to joining NEPC, Gregory worked at State Street Corporation/State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) for 17 years, serving in a variety of roles, many focused on Data Management and Data Governance. Gregory's last role at SSGA was serving as the North America Client Data Steward, responsible for all account and client-related data for North America-based clients. In his current role as Manager of Data Governance at NEPC, Gregory reports to the Director of Business Solutions and the Chief Technology Officer at NEPC. He has a Senior Business Analyst reporting to him, along with three Data Management Support Associates, who combined, form the Data Support Team at NEPC.
