Steven Hawking said that the enemy of knowledge isn’t ignorance; it’s the illusion of knowledge. We battle that illusion in addressing AI’s shortcomings - from the legacy challenges of incorrect and incomplete outcomes, through the bias that creeps into ML, to the wholly fabricated hallucinations of genAI. For AI to fulfill its potential, its answers mustn’t just sound sensible, they must be sensible. Context is how we make sense as humans and will have to be how we make sense in AI. K Krasnow Waterman is a polymath, weaving broad knowledge to rapidly create or transform solutions and data-driven organizations, delivering them on time and within budget. She has served as a Chief Information Officer, Chief Operations executive, and Chief Technology Officer. She has held leadership roles at JPMorgan, Citigroup, the FBI, and a Ranieri private equity company. She has been a senior advisor and consultant to DHS and MIT. 

She has led all segments of the big data ecosystem - collection, harmonization, architecture, analytics, AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and more. She is regularly sought after for leadership work and advice on all manner of issues in big data environments, tech start-ups, and early-stage companies. She regularly publishes and speaks on these topics. 

She participates in MIT's Decentralized Information Group at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, researching decentralized web techniques and technologies that impact social change. She was the creator and first chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. And, K is proud to be an advisor for the Center for Humane Technology.
