How do you implement Data Intelligence in an Agile environment with a small team and limited resources? In February 2021, the struggles began! Molson Coors started the process of implementing a data catalog and increasing a culture of data literacy while at the same time adopting Agile ways of working (SAFe). Agile ways of working and Data Stewardship may have seemed like a contradiction but devolved authority in Agile is proving to be an effective partner. Making the most of a small team, we identified key business use cases where our efforts are focused. Through data literacy and metadata enrichment outreach efforts, we are implementing a ground-up approach to the MCBC data stack. This will ultimately enable new collaboration and consistency within MCBC, facilitating faster decisions, products, and overall operational efficiency.
