The session focuses on our journey over the past 6 months of using data management practices when adopting international data standards.

The practices covered will include:

• Data architecture, the planning for the new data standard, the changes to the data landscape, and the strategic and tactical decisions made during the initiative.
• Data modeling, the alignment of the data standard with the enterprise conceptual data model, the enhancement to the design of the enterprise logical data model, and the specification of the physical data models used for data exchange and storage.
• Data governance, the assurance that only the data in scope is being sourced and consistent algorithms are used to create consistent reporting results.

He has worked across multiple sectors, bringing deep experience in government, resources and utilities, financial services, and IT. David’s area of specialty is creating conceptual and logical enterprise data models to capture the integrated information and data needs of organizations for the purposes of understanding the scope of data involved in business activities. David is a Past-President of DAMA Australia.

Alexandra Wiebe is a data management consultant that specializes in data architecture, data modeling, data governance, and data quality. Her foundation in chemical process engineering emphasizes the enterprise perspective of data in structure, process, and management. Alexandra enjoys problem-solving the integration of data throughout an enterprise during data modeling and data architecture projects. She also has experience in developing data governance documents and procedures to benefit the quality of business-handled data.
