Data Mesh and Data Fabric (Panel)
The concepts and practices of Data Mesh and Data Fabric are today’s hot topics in data management. They actually describe two different concepts, though they overlap in part, and though often confused, they can be complementary technologies and approaches. Data mesh represents an organizational approach toward data that applies four principles—domain ownership, data as a product, self-service data, and federated automated governance. A data fabric layer helps a data engineer explore the data, while keeping it secure and governed. This way unique insights can be derived that can help you improve your relationship with the customer and create new meaningful business products.
This panel discussion will compare and contrast the two approaches. We’ll explain how they overlap and differ. We’ll also talk about the factors to look at if you are considering adoption.
