Over the years, we faced mounting frustration due to incomplete measures, temporary cleanup efforts, and quick fixes. The urgency to address these challenges became even more apparent with an impending S4/Hana transformation. To tackle this head-on, we made a bold decision to establish a permanent Enterprise Master Data Governance organization dedicated to developing and executing robust data governance practices.

With a career spanning over three decades in the petrochemical and nuclear sectors, I've spent the last nine years at LYB, a global leader in chemicals. As the Director of Enterprise Master Data Governance, I am charged with forming a data governance team and pioneering data governance initiatives across all data domains on a global scale. I've spearheaded substantial organizations, managed operations, major projects, and plant overhauls, and have co-led the international turnaround team. A personal drive to solve the challenges caused by poor master data—challenges I've faced firsthand—has led me to my current role, where I'm committed to establishing robust data governance and stewardship practices.
