With the increasing use of (Gen) AI and the upcoming AI regulations, demonstrable "in control" of data (quality) management is becoming more important for more and more industries and sectors. Based on other regulatory requirements, financial institutions have been working on this for quite some time. The approach that Rabobank has developed for this is a good practice for other industries.

As a bank/financial service provider, Rabobank operates in a highly regulated industry. Data and the ability to utilize data are crucial for the bank. Rabobank created an approach to stay in control of its data and to be compliant with relevant regulations. Data management (including quality) is an area under regulatory scrutiny. For several years supervisors have been pushing banks to improve their data quality. The availability of high-quality data and advanced analytics capabilities (Gen AI, Machine Learning, etc.) are essential to build tomorrow’s data-driven bank. What is Rabobank doing to stay in control of its data, meet regulatory requirements, and create more value out of data?
