The paradigm is changing on how we manage data, moving from management by application to management by data subdomains. This shift requires a data governance operating model, setting up data governance councils, developing training materials, and a methodology for establishing and running data subdomains in a standardized way that maximizes return on investment. Using a Data Governance Build in a Box methodology can focus on the establishment of data subdomains and implementing minimum viable governance.

Michael's passion is data governance and how to roll it out using data subdomains. Prior to Verizon, Michael worked for 10 years at Research In Motion as a technical product manager, and  for 15 years at Access Communications as the CEO.
