KEYNOTE: Data Fabric and the Importance of Asking Questions

Best practices in data and AI move fast and constantly change. What doesn’t change and is more critical now than ever is the importance of asking the right questions. Questions vary by stakeholders, their framework and point of views. In order to promote explainability and adoption of predictive models and advanced analytics, it is essential to understand how stakeholders make decisions, take action and what drives their behavior. Thus the tools needed to accomplish this also need to simplify the data access and data self service in an organization. Data fabric and similar architectures are some of the tangible ways of delivering on a question first approach.

Speaker: Rogayeh Tabrizi

CEO, Theory+Practice

Rogayeh Tabrizi has a passion for connections and a drive to find the answers. She studied experimental particle physics at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, and worked on the ATLAS Detector at CERN. She earned her Ph.D. in economics as a more effective way to engender positive change in the world, and became fascinated with game theory and the behavioral patterns in social networks. Big data is all in a day's work for a physicist. Uncovering hidden trends and indicators to better serve the customer's needs is a behavioral economist's delight. This unique marriage of skills and every corporation's need to understand their data, inspired Rogayeh to co-found Theory+Practice. Rogayeh has worked with a number of nonprofits and social networks, including Engineers Without Borders.
