
The best practices of enacting a Data Quality program have extolled the virtues of traditional facets of completeness, consistency, reasonableness, timeliness, accuracy, integrity, and the list goes on. These are commonly referred to as dimensions of Data Quality. Over the years and even at DGIQ, I’ve seen presentations on Data Quality include 14 different dimensions…16 different dimensions…even up to somewhere in the 20s of different dimensions! Oh my! Chick-fil-A embarked upon this path some years ago and encountered a number of challenges along the way. Some of these challenges were our corporate culture, our staffing strategy, and a lack of automation.

Sid Stephens has over ten years of experience in data governance, data collection, and data management. Currently, he serves as the Data Governance Program Lead at Chick-fil-A. In this role, he is the Business Lead for Chick-fil-A's Data Governance ecosystem which includes the quality, cataloging, and stewarding of our valuable data in order to take CARE of our customers, franchisees, team members, and staff. Prior experience includes Data Quality Assurance Manager at the Air Protection Branch for the State of Georgia. The Quality Assurance responsibilities include data collection, storage, analysis, reporting, and metrics from Georgia's Ambient Air Monitoring Network which includes approximately 40 sites in 30 counties across Georgia.
