“Difficult choices, unlike red wine, rarely improve with age.”—Richard N. Haass (Former United States Director of Policy Planning)
The demand for data catalogs is growing and is expected to grow to a $1.8B industry by 2026. The vendor ecosystem and functionality each provides is ever growing. When it comes to selecting a data catalog, it is easy to feel like a kid in a candy store with too many options and no idea what to choose. Just like a good bottle of wine, a data catalog should be chosen based on its “varietal” (the types of capabilities it provides), its “body” (how robust it is), and its “finish” (how well it integrates with existing systems).
Just like a good wine, data catalogs are meant to be shared and are easy to access and understood by users. This session will discuss strategies to simplify the section process, and how to plan a successful data catalog initiative.
