How Are We Doing? Effective Approaches to Measuring Program Progress

Most of us are familiar with the calculation and score-carding of Data Quality metrics, but this is only a small part of the types of metrics that can go into assessing the progress of your Data Management or Data Governance initiative. Some metrics can be challenging to define; some are challenging to calculate, but chosen and leveraged appropriately, they provide objective, concrete evidence that allows you to communicate effectively with your stakeholders.  

In this presentation, we will discuss the following:

• The four main classes of program success metrics
• The value of each of these
• The effort (and pitfalls) involved in defining each of them
• The effort (and pitfalls) involved in calculating each of them
• How to effectively leverage the metrics once they have been established

The presentation will include multiple mini-case studies illustrating how our some of our clients have developed meaningful program success metrics.
