Have you had any challenges with co-workers when it comes to Data Governance-related projects or implementations? Have you had issues achieving a consensus amongst your co-workers? How did you resolve them? Were you able to overcome them successfully? Did the challenges prevent completion or buy-in?

I will discuss multiple issues I have experienced over my 15-plus years of leading Data Governance Projects as well as Data Initiatives, and how, as a team, we overcame these challenges. I will also review examples of times as a team we ultimately failed, unfortunately, and what I learned from those experiences. I would also like to hear about challenges or issues others have faced and how they overcame them as well. My hope is that this will be an interactive session in which we can all learn from each other (or commiserate if that is desired, hopefully not).

Gregory joined NEPC in 2016 and is now the Manager of the Data Governance Team. Prior to joining NEPC, Gregory worked at State Street Corporation/State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) for 17 years, serving in a variety of roles, many focused on Data Management and Data Governance. Gregory's last role at SSGA was serving as the North America Client Data Steward, responsible for all account and client-related data for North America-based clients. In his current role as Manager of Data Governance at NEPC, Gregory reports to the Director of Business Solutions and the Chief Technology Officer at NEPC. He has reporting to him three Data Management Support Associates, who, combined, form the Data Support Team at NEPC.
