Yet, while organizations know that they need to implement data governance, they struggle with knowing how to get it done. This session focuses on the leadership mindsets and behaviors that a newly appointed Senior Data Governance and Analytics Director has found effective in implementing data governance within an entrepreneurial retail organization. With a background in change management and research on the leadership behaviors and mindsets that enable organizational adaptability, Dr. Carol Henry shares the strategies she is leveraging to shift her organization toward managing data as an asset.

Speaker: Dr. Carol Henry

Dr. Carol Henry holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pennsylvania’s Chief Learning Officer Program. She has gained extensive experience in change management and leadership development while working in various industries, including telecommunications, logistics, and retail. Until recently, she was the Director of Human Resources in Grocery Retail, focused on Learning & Development, Recruitment, Employee Relations, and Change Management. In 2020, Carol was nominated as one of the Top Women in Grocery in the United States & Canada by Progressive Grocer and as one of the Star Women in Grocery by the Retail Council of Canada. In 2023, she transitioned to a new role as Senior Director, Data Governance & Analytics. She is on a new journey to enable her organization to adapt to the new retail landscape that is driven by data and analytics.
