How many people do you need to find, talk to, and wait on before you can access data? Through increasing data literacy, Lilly is reducing barriers to treating data as a strategic asset. This year-long internal effort focused on raising awareness, identifying learning opportunities, and fostering a data-driven culture. Key activities included a comprehensive data literacy survey to capture diverse perspectives, Data Literacy Day events, and a tailored curriculum with Lilly L&D. Extensive communication efforts, including internal social media campaigns and team presentations, significantly raised the profile of data use and related skills. By promoting a culture of data literacy, the initiative highlighted the importance of data and provided insights into common access challenges employees face.
This session will share our approach, key learnings, and the impact of our data literacy training curriculum.
