Oftentimes, Data Governance leaders inherit the smoldering remains of a previous attempt at Data governance and must investigate and rebuild the initiative from the ashes. Common culprits include a lack of adoption or engagement, a lack of clarity on the purpose or value, or a lack of formal champions or sponsors. Often, it is a dynamic combination of all these shortfalls...and then some!
