
Metadata Governance is at the core of how we manage our data. We are excited to share our journey in building a Business Glossary. We gleaned the inspiration to design a metamodel from the 2021 DGIQ 2-day seminar entitled “How to Implement and Govern an Enterprise Data Catalog and Business Glossary.”

Speaker: Robin B Rappaport
Technical Project Manager, IRS – RAAS - DMD

Robin Rappaport has over 35 years of experience as a Data Quality practitioner. She is an Operations Research Analyst with a deep interest in data and metadata quality. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst.
As Technical Project Manager, she runs the IRS Data & Analytics Data Council. She leads related subgroups and the Data & Analytics Community of Practice (CoP) for IRS and Treasury-wide. Recognized as a superior contributor (awardee) in the Federal CDO Council Data Inventory Working Group, she also leads the Treasury Data Inventory Working Group. In support of the IRA Initiative to Maximize Data Utility at the IRS, she manages Data Governance (including Metadata and Data Standards; Data Catalog, Lineage, Taxonomy, and Sensitivity).
Speaker: Elainie Abebe
Senior Data Architect, Analytica

Elainie Abebe, D.Sc., is a senior data architect at Analytica. Elainie is a seasoned practitioner with experience in various aspects of Data Management, including Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Modeling, Database Security, Extract Transform and Load processes, and Database and Data Warehouse Administration. Over the course of her career, she has supported Federal, State and Commercial clients. She is part of the team that provides support to current initiatives at the IRS, Research Applied Analytics & Statistics (RAAS) Data Management Division (DMD). Elainie earned her doctoral degree in Information Management with a focus on Data Quality. She has taught a graduate-level Database Design and Implementation course at The George Washington University, Department of Engineering & Systems Engineering.
