For an insights-driven company “Data” is considered as an asset. At HP, we are evolving from Business Intelligence to Data and Analytics with a three-pronged strategy: data, technology, and governance.
On the data side, we understood that the single source of truth when mashed up with relatable subject areas can transform into powerful analytical insights. Hence defined data products, their lifecycle, and a unified catalog to make data accessible via the marketplace.
On the technology side, we have designed a scalable and secured Federated Data Lake House architecture that supports the use cases for persons like analytical engineers, operations, data scientists, and executives.
Finally, data governance by/of/for the people: We stood up the Data Governance organization and pivoted part of our team as data leaders – like data product owners, data stewards, and domain leads using formal training, mentoring programs as well as recognition, to catalog/curate metadata and to own Data Quality standards.
