
Being a data professional can be tough. We strive mightily to transform our organizations, senior leadership “doesn’t get it,” structural and cultural barriers get in the way, and the technological hype just does not match reality.
But here’s the good news! Help is on the way! Instead of laboring away, unloved in our cubicles, we can become merchants of human empowerment!
I’ve spent the last several years working with clients, industry experts, and study groups to sort out how to speed things up in the data space. The issues noted above are tough indeed. But the first and most basic step is to put "regular people," those without data in their titles, front and center in all data projects and programs, which is often easier than many imagine.
