In today's digital landscape, data has become the lifeblood of organizations, empowering them to make informed decisions and gain a competitive edge. However, with the increasing volume, variety, and velocity of data, organizations face a myriad of risks that can jeopardize the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of their valuable information assets. To counter these risks effectively, organizations must embrace a collaborative and holistic approach.

Speaker: Chandra Donelson

Space Data Officer, United States Space Force

Ms. Chandra Donelson served as the Deputy Chief Data Officer for the Headquarters Department of the Army, G-2 from 2021-2023. Since starting with the Department of Army in 2018, Ms. Donelson has done more than wrangling data, with over 10 years of Program Management and Intelligence Operations experience, she has championed rapid change, synchronized operations to technology, and created a vast partner ecosystem within the Intelligence Community (IC). In her role as DCDO, she is responsible for developing and enforcing the Department's data strategy and governance policies, providing oversight for the Department’s information assets, improving data access and use, and fostering an agency wide data culture.
 
She is a recognized transformational leader for the development and implementation of new capabilities initiatives, planning, programming, and forecasting disruptive technology. Prior to joining HQDA G-2 federal workforce, Ms. Donelson was co-owner of a bridal boutique in Texas and led business operations for two Fortune 500 Companies. Afterwards, Ms. Donelson landed the OSINT Data Manager position at the Department of Army Intelligence Information Services (DAIIS). In this role from 2018-2021 she led coordination, synchronization, and integration efforts for the U.S. Army, making data readily available across 8 classified domains. Ms. Donelson’s intelligence expertise, knowledge, and passion for technology, led to the development of a multi-domain Information Sharing platform for the Army. She expanded the Army’s ability to share data with multi-national partners by leveraging her technological solutions to make intelligence reporting available to foreign partners.
 
Before moving into technology, Ms. Donelson enlisted in the United States Air Force, as an Intelligence Operations Specialist in 2010, initially in support of A-10 Close Air Support (CAS) missions at Barksdale AFB, LA. She then relocated to Little Rock, AR to support C-130 mobility operations. Ms. Donelson continues to serve in the United States Air Force Reserves; currently supporting CENTCOM J-2. Ms. Donelson earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Information Technology (IT) from Texas A&M University, and a Masters in Data Science and Analytics in High Performance Computing from the University of Missouri.


Speaker: Cindy Tu


Director of IT & Data Audit, Discover Financial Services

Cindy Tu is a Data/IT Risk Leader who has over 16 years of audit experience. She is currently an IT Audit Director at Discover Financial Services managing Data & Analytics and IT audit portfolio. Prior to joining Discover, Cindy has been with Fannie Mae and Sallie Mae with an overall 8 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Cindy’s specialty areas include IT audits, data governance audit, and Agile methodology. Cindy graduated from the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill with a Master of Accounting degree. She also has a Master of Computer Science from the University of Alberta. Cindy is a CPA, CISA, CISSP, and AWS Solutions Architect Associate.


Speaker: Peggy Tsai

Chief Data Officer, BigID

Peggy Tsai is the Chief Data Officer at BigID where she is responsible for building the data strategy and enabling data governance capabilities for customers. BigID enables organizations to know their enterprise data and take action for privacy, protection, and perspective. With BigID, customers can proactively discover, manage, and protect their regulated and sensitive data across their data landscape.

Peggy has over 18 years of practitioner experience in data management, stewardship, and governance in the financial services industry. Prior to joining BigID, she was Vice President of Data & Analytics at Morgan Stanley where she helped run the data governance program across the Wealth Management division. She held various positions at Morgan Stanley where she supported the data science teams on analytical data governance and led a project team to document data lineage and business definitions across enterprise systems in order to comply with Basel regulations. Peggy was also Data Innovation Lead in the Enterprise Data Management group at AIG. She was responsible for implementing enterprise data management practices to support Anti-Money Laundering, Solvency II, and GDPR in the Latin American region and Commercial line of business. Peggy also worked at S&P Global Ratings where she held various positions in enterprise data group and technology in order to drive the value of data between the business and IT. 

Peggy has a Master's in Information Systems from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University. She is an adjunct faculty at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College CDAO certification program. In her spare time, she is a co-host of a data and technology podcast called The Data Transformers. She is one of 2022’s Top 100 Global Data & Analytics Innovators and a founding member of the Women Leaders in Data & AI.

Speaker: Kshitij Grover

Director of Enterprise Data Risk Management, Capital One

Kshitij has over 15 years of experience as a Data Management Advisor with a unique blend of industry knowledge in enterprise risk management framework, data privacy, data management processes, and data management tools/technology. A value-focused and insightful leader with a history of successful Data Risk Management, Data Governance and Privacy, and Digital Transformation, across Financial Services, Hospitality and Leisure, Media, Real Estate, Packaging, Insurance, Retail, Education, Non-Profit, and Government sectors.

Kshitij has worked with C- Suite Security, Governance, Risk, Privacy, and Compliance officers to develop sound risk management practices to drive consistency and active risk management across the organization to enable strategy and meet business objectives, with a strong focus on data privacy and data management practices. Knowledge and experience in privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and value-driven consultative digital strategy and opportunity management for enhancing customer footprint, go-to-market capabilities, and thought leadership.
