Carelon, a subsidiary of Elevance Health, one of the largest healthcare players, is building a new data platform with a vision to promote whole-person care, that would generate insights through data integration from multiple silo systems. Trust in data was low in the beginning with extremely complex business processes. This presentation will discuss how we stood up a data governance program with the focus on 3 key functions: Data Governance, Data Security, and Data Management.

We will also demonstrate what data products we are building and how we enabled the DG program in a product-centric environment, where the focus was on agility and product build.

We will share our journey of enabling trust in the data, we onboard from clients and internal business units, through data quality, data security, and data standardization. We will also share some of the challenges we encountered during the journey.
