Prioritizing Data Governance by Understanding the Value of Your Data
In a world where data is generated by everything around us, we need to better understand the value of each data set for the organization. At ING, we have defined a methodology that can help us better understand the actual value of data and information we are working with, to easier assess what data sets are to be made available first. By having an intrinsic way of calculating the value of information, we could look at the data from a different perspective than before, when the need for data was driving the priority. With this new perspective, decisions about the data sets' level of governance will be based on its (potential) value compared to other data sets.
