Converting Data Language Into Business Speak - Can You Talk the Talk

Let’s face it. The data language we use is sometimes hard to keep up with, even for those of us in the data community. Data Management. Master Data. Data Governance. Data Mesh. Data Quality. The list goes on and on, and it feels like there are new terms added every year. As data professionals, we may be able to communicate with each other effectively using this language, but these words simply won’t hit the mark when trying to communicate to most business leaders.  

And while we may firmly believe that data governance efforts will add tremendous value to our business leaders, the hard part is getting them to believe it too. If you’re struggling to get business buy-in for your data governance efforts, it might be because you’re not speaking their language.

In this session, we’ll look at techniques for effectively communicating key data concepts to various business leaders across an organization.
