
A Business-Friendly Approach to Data Governance and Quality
While it serves regulatory requirements, a heavy-handed, top-down approach to governance can leave Data Governance teams exhausted and the business frustrated and overworked. In this session, I will demonstrate how my Data Governance team’s frictionless approach uses a data quality pilot to identify sources of growth and makes a case for Enterprise Governance and stewardship. By embedding ourselves in existing processes and applying a plug-and-play model of activities, we implement governance from the ground up. These small wins enhance commitment and ultimately build big buy-in when presented as a package to executives. To illustrate our approach, I'll highlight a finance-related use case through which we piloted our holistic offering, including:

Danielle is a data management leader with 7 years experience developing, implementing and supporting strategies and solutions for data governance, data quality and enterprise content management. She has worked for the Government of Canada, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and has been in the real estate sector for nearly 5 years. She holds a Masters of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. At QuadReal, she leads a team of data management professionals, and is responsible for the corporate data management strategy - focusing on engaging stakeholders and delivering meaningful solutions across the organization.
