Few enterprises have an AI governance practice. At ExxonMobil, the gap between policy and execution was a familiar challenge until we applied the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX) as a governing philosophy. I will walk through how we identified AI governance as a Wildly Important Goal, built lead measures around our five-phase Enterprise AI Intake Process hosted in Collibra, created a compelling scoreboard using our GOLLUM Metrics framework, and established a cadence of accountability that made governance sustainable rather than aspirational. GOLLUM (Gathering, Optimization, Leadership, Licensing, Usage & Metrics) instruments our AI use-case lifecycle across 10 governance steps, quantifying the true value of systems, processes, and investments. Metrics matter: you are what you measure, and what you measure is what you become. Attendees will leave with a practical blueprint for turning AI governance away from a compliance checkbox into an organizational discipline, grounded in real lessons from one of the world's largest energy companies.

Martin Obiozor is a Data Management Solutions Architect at ExxonMobil, where he has pioneered data discipline across the enterprise for over 27 years. As the organization's first petascale data manager, he has led data transformation initiatives across Upstream, Downstream, Midstream, and Corporate functions, helping shape ExxonMobil's approach to managing hundreds of petabytes of enterprise data. 
 
Martin champions the philosophy that data is the lifeblood connecting people, processes, technology, and assets. His expertise spans master data management, metadata management, data warehousing, data architecture, data governance, and AI governance. He developed ExxonMobil's GOLLUM framework, a metrics-driven model for quantifying the true value of systems, processes, and investments, including AI governance.
