Annual access · New topics added as data evolves

The Data Literacy Guide.

Everyone in your organization talks about data. Not everyone means the same thing by it. The Data Literacy Guide gives your teams one shared vocabulary for the data and AI topics that decisions now depend on.

Built for one person getting up to speed or a whole department getting aligned.

About 5 min each

Why it matters

The cost of a shared word nobody shares

Most data initiatives that stall get stuck in the same place: a meeting where two departments use one term to mean two different things. Here are three places that shows up.

The meeting spends its first ten minutes on definitions

Whether this is master data or reference data, whether “quality” belongs to the team that produced the number or the team reporting it. The decision waits while the vocabulary gets negotiated.

Good work lands flat in front of the people funding it

A governance proposal, an AI pilot, a warehouse migration. When the audience is translating as they listen, they cannot evaluate what they are being asked to approve.

The fix is usually training nobody has time to take

A multi-day course is a hard ask for a compliance lead or a marketing director. A 5-minute topic fits in the gap before the meeting starts.

What’s inside

15 topics, one connected foundation

Each topic takes about 5 minutes and ends with a knowledge check.

Hover or tap any topic to see what it covers. All topics are included in annual access, with no prerequisites, so you can start wherever your next meeting needs you.

All-inclusive by design

Everything is included because everything is connected

A governance question becomes a metadata question, which becomes a glossary question, which becomes an AI governance question. That’s how this work moves in practice.

When the next project pulls you into unfamiliar territory, the topic you need is already in your access, with no new purchase, approval, or wait.

Every current topic, ready now

Start wherever the confusion is, and come back to the rest when you need it.

New topics at no extra cost

As topics are added, they show up in your access.

Two ways to use it

Work through it to align a team. Come back to it when a topic lands on your desk.

Who it helps

One vocabulary, across every group that touches data

Data passes through a lot of hands on its way to a decision, and every team along the way needs its terms to mean the same thing. The Data Literacy Guide gives all of them shared definitions to work from, from the frontline teams who create the data to the executives who act on it.

People who create the data

Warehouse floor, receiving, field service, store and frontline teams

  • See where a scan, count, or log entry goes after it leaves their hands.
  • Understand why accuracy at the source matters to the forecast and the report.
  • Take a topic on a shared tablet during a shift break, no lengthy course required.

In practice: a receiving team takes Data Quality and sees how one mis-keyed SKU reaches the quarterly forecast.

People who live in the data

Practitioners, architects, engineers, analysts, stewards, governance leads

  • Send a stakeholder a definition instead of explaining it for the fifth time.
  • Bring a project team to the same starting point before kickoff.
  • Onboard new team members from a consistent, documented foundation.

In practice: a new analyst takes Data Quality and Business Glossaries in week one and follows the first project meeting from the opening agenda item.

People who depend on the data

Executives, business leaders, marketing, legal, finance, operations, product, HR

  • Walk into a governance or AI review able to follow it and ask a real question.
  • As an executive, judge a proposal on its substance and ask the question that tests it.
  • Look up an unfamiliar concept in the few minutes before the meeting starts.

In practice: before an AI steering committee, the CFO and COO each take AI Governance, so the discussion opens on the decision itself.

When every group shares a vocabulary, cross-functional work starts on the actual problem. That’s what your organization gets here: everyone speaking the same language of data.

Teams, departments, organizations

Shared language works better when it’s actually shared.

When only one person knows the vocabulary, they end up translating for everyone else. When the whole department knows it, everyone works from the same definitions. Tell us how many people you’re covering and we’ll get you set up.

Questions

Before you get access

What exactly do I get for $99?
A year of access to the complete Data Literacy Guide: all current topics, every topic added during your access period, and updates as existing topics expand. Each topic includes a knowledge check.
Does my access renew automatically?
Yes. Access renews automatically at $99 each year, so your guide stays current with no gap in access.
How do I cancel?
Sign in to your DATAVERSITY Training Center account and cancel your renewal there. Cancel anytime before your renewal date and you won’t be charged again. Your access continues through the end of your current year.
Why can’t I buy just one topic?
Because the work rarely stays inside one topic. A governance question quickly pulls in metadata and glossaries, so every topic is included and the context you need is already there, with no second purchase or approval.
What happens when new topics are added?
They show up in your access at no extra cost. Data and AI keep changing, and the guide keeps pace with them through your year of access.
How long does each topic take?
About 5 minutes each. There are no prerequisites and no required order, so you can take one right before a meeting or work through several to align a team.
Is this a certification program?
No. The Data Literacy Guide builds practical, shared understanding of data and AI concepts. If you are pursuing the CDMP or ADGP, DATAVERSITY offers dedicated certification preparation separately.
